Description
Includes valuable Reasoned Leadership principles and tactics: the Three-Part Communication Model and Validation Exchange, developed by Dr David M Robertson, MSL, VL2.
Most delegation fails at the handoff or at the finish
The person leaves with a different picture of “done” than yours, or the work comes back and nobody closes the loop. This kit fixes both ends. Every handoff states what needs to be done, why it matters and what success looks like, then checks that the person can say it back in their own words. Every finish verifies the result against that picture, returns it with guidance if it falls short, and recognizes the effort once it meets the standard.
What’s in the kit
- Delegation Toolkit: a fillable 9-page PDF in Letter and A4 with a Delegation Decision Sheet, the Handoff Brief and the Follow-Through Sheet (each with a worked example), a Reset Conversation Guide for work that goes off track, a Validation Exchange page and a printable Handoff Card.
- Follow-Through Tracker: a spreadsheet for every task you hand off. It calculates the next check-in and flags overdue tasks, due check-ins and finished work that still needs recognition, with a summary of how often work meets the standard the first time.
- Delegation Coach: AI instructions and a reference file for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok. Hand Off mode drafts the brief and the script, Check In mode preps the conversation, Review mode compares the result with the standard and drafts a return note or a specific validation note, and Reset mode prepares the conversation when a task stalls.
Good to know
- Check-ins are set at the handoff and matched to the person’s experience, so follow-up stays steady without turning into micromanaging.
- Works in a regular chat with nothing to install. The tracker opens in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice.
- License: use it yourself and share it with one team you lead or work on. No resale or sharing beyond your team.
