Description
Built on the Reasoned Leadership framework, developed by Dr David M Robertson, MSL, VL2.
Bad ideas die cheaply, on paper
Most decisions get judged on their own: “Is this good?” Contrastive Inquiry tests a decision against its direct opposite before you commit, then asks the one question that shows which side is right. This bundle puts that method to work three ways.
Three ways to use it
- On paper: a one-page Decision Worksheet, fillable on screen or printed from a pad of 10, with a how-to page and a worked example.
- In your AI assistant: a reference file you upload to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok so it applies the method correctly in any chat.
- As a dedicated bot: CIB, the Contrastive Inquiry Bot. Guide mode walks you through a decision. Pressure Test mode takes a plan, claim or number and returns a verdict (Holds, Fails or Needs proof first) with the fix and the skill that was missing. A team-reviewer version checks your other bots’ work before it reaches you.
Why CIB is different from a devil’s advocate prompt
- It follows a named, published method with fixed steps.
- It tests the true opposite of a claim. Softer objections don’t count.
- It recomputes numbers instead of trusting them, and flags any process where a bot grades its own work.
- Every verdict ends with a fix and a lesson you can reuse.
Good to know
- Works in a regular chat with nothing to install. Save it as an assistant where your plan allows. For bot teams, CIB comes as instructions for your AI step; it is not an importable workflow.
- CIB tests reasoning and arithmetic. Its verdicts depend on the evidence you give it, and it doesn’t replace legal, medical, tax or investment advice.
- License: use it yourself and share it with one team you lead or work on. You can use the method and CIB in client sessions you run. No resale or sharing beyond your team.
